ABOUT US
 

Technological, Vocational Education and Training Oman [TVET-Oman] is one of the important human development systems in Oman.  This is because TVET provision is one of the main strategic policies of Oman government aimed in the development of Omani human resource’s technological and vocational knowledge and skill capabilities and capacities.  This strategy has been one of the main standing policies since the accession of H.M. Sultan Qaboos bin Said Omani leadership in 1970, where it is considered one of the important key components in the development of Omani social environment well-being as well as sustainable economy growth and competitiveness. 

Consequently, the government has given the mandate of Omani TVET’s planning, development, delivery, and evaluation strategies and activities to the Ministry of Manpower.  Since, then the Ministry of Manpower has powered large amount of human and physical resources in realizing its mandate.  Through this mandate, the Ministry of Manpower has build strong links with different key strategic partners in private and public as well as in education and training spheres in the aim of making sure of the quality of all activities involve in TVET Oman.

TVET Oman employs 2700 staff in different capacities aiming in delivering 100 different technological and vocational education and training programs in its seven Colleges of Technologies campuses and well as five Vocational Training Centers and buying different vocational training programs from private vocational training providers on behalf of those Omanis who required Up-skilling. There are approximately 40000 students within TVET-Oman system in academic year [2011-2012] who are undergone different technological and vocational knowledge and skill development. Student number is expected to grow by (20%) yearly for the next 4 years. Consequently, the government have taken and initiative to increase its financial commitment to this sector to go hand in hand with the noted expansion.

   

TVET-Oman Vision : To make TVET education and training experiences to be the sorted and the favorable by new and exist Omani workforce, parents, employers, and society as a whole.

TVET-Oman Mission : Continuously develop, manage, and deliver a high quality and fitting technological and vocational education and training knowledge and skill experiences.  This mission is to be realized through the development and utilization effectively and efficiently of human and physical resources, as well as to provide fitting continuous life and learning skill and equal opportunities to all candidates.
